This weekend, I learnt a couple of things about Finnish illnesses, which made me smile.
Firstly, I established that I definitely don't want to get bronchitis in Finland, not just because it’s clearly an unpleasant illness, but also because I could never pronounce the word “keuhkoputkentulehdus” (lung tube inflammation).
Secondly, I was amused to discover that if a Finn has a sore throat, they say “kurkku kipeänä”, which also means their cucumber is sick.
Who thought illnesses could be so entertaining?
